Vintage Samsonite Streamlite Ladies Small Overnight Suitcase, Saddle Brown

I'm quite partial to this series of Samsonite luggage manufactured circa 1941-1955 by the Schwayder Brothers (inventors and makers of Samsonite). This suitcase is the hard to find "Ladies Small Overnight" in Samsonite Saddle Brown. It's a petite case and perfect for a child. Works as an airline carry-on under current FAA regulations as well. Though it is still usable and sturdy, stitching has loosened around the exterior endcap trim and the handle has hairline cracks. This is one of the most collectible vintage cases around, in the most desirable color and price reflects condition. This piece also bears a great initial plate "MLK." The interior is in very good condition for age. All hardware is in working order though, there is no key for the lock.

Vintage American Tourister Tri-Taper Suitcase

Vintage American Tourister hardside Tri-Taper suitcase in a streamlined sophisticated design. Fiberglass reinforced shell exterior color is multi-gray which creates woven or tweed effect. Interior color is a taupe/blush. Interior is near mint with two elasticized pockets and one working metal zippered compartment. Two ribbon tie-downs. Suitcase features locking silver tone hardware and comes with two keys in original envelope. Also included is the vintage American Tourister luggage i.d. tag as seen in photos.

Measurements: 16" height, 22" width, 7" depth.

Vintage Samsonite Streamlite Schwayder Bros Luggage, Rawhide

Vintage pair of coordinating Samsonite Streamlite suitcases by Schwayder Brothers, Inc Denver (circa 1941-1955). Both are Samsonite's Streamlite color "Natural Rawhide" which is a marbled tan. This set includes one "Ladies Overnight Regular" suitcase, model number 4531 and one Train Case (model 4512). Both in exceptional condition for age. The lift-out cosmetic tray in the train case has a small chip to one corner but, this does not prevent or deter use. Train case mirror is in tact as are interior stitched pockets. Mirror is in excellent condition. The Ladies Overnight has has two elasticized pockets, tie-downs, and ruched divider. There is one small pinhole to the fabric lining in the base but no other stains or tears present. Both have keys and working locks.

The Samsonite Ladies' Overnight Regular measures 21" wide, 15" tall (18 1/4" with handle extended), 7" depth at base tapers to 6" at top of case. Two interior compartments are separated with a ruched divider and each measures 20x14x3"

The Train Case measures 13 1/4" wide, 9" tall (11 1/2" with handle extended), 8 1/2" depth at base tapers to 7 1/2" depth at top of case.
